GHTS proudly introduces our comprehensive mentoring services for grades K-12, designed to enhance social and emotional learning (SEL) using the CASEL framework. Our programs, available in various formats including in-person, hybrid, and virtual, build on our proven tutoring services. They focus on developing key SEL components like managing emotions, empathy, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

Our mentoring services integrate academic success with the cultivation of essential social and emotional skills, vital for students' overall growth. Trained mentors guide students in improving emotional intelligence, self-awareness, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Flexible delivery methods ensure all students can access our services, catering to different learning preferences and circumstances. Our approach fosters educational equity and excellence, creating supportive learning environments through strong partnerships with schools, families, and communities.

We offer a range of tailored services, including weekly one-on-one mentoring, focusing on academic support, communication skills, goal setting, and community service. Our holistic approach aims to produce mentally, socially, and academically healthy students, equipping them with skills for lifelong learning and civic engagement. Our goals include boosting confidence, fostering positive relationships, social awareness, responsible decision-making, and increasing community involvement.

Our approach to mentoring and tutoring is grounded in the following four principles:

  • Engage the whole student.

AGE AND GRADE APPROPRIATE MENTORING

Grades K-5

Our K-5 program emphasizes personalized learning through one-on-one and small group sessions, nurturing confidence and comfort among students. We focus on tracking attendance, rewarding consistency with incentives and positive reinforcement. Engaging, enriching activities, including age-appropriate dancing, singing, and group exercises, are integral to our approach. These fun, interactive elements are crafted to captivate young learners' attention, enhancing their educational experience by blending learning with enjoyable and creative activities, fostering both personal growth and a love for learning.

Grades 6-8

Our program for 6th to 8th graders is designed to foster healthy self-esteem, preparing them for high school's challenges. At this pivotal age, where fitting in becomes crucial, mentoring plays a key role in providing a supportive space for students to express themselves freely, away from peer pressure. Small group discussions on social issues are planned to enhance their social skills. Furthermore, consistent attendance will be encouraged and rewarded with age-appropriate gifts and accolades, acknowledging their commitment and growth. Our team is fully equipped to provide top-notch training to your students.

Grades 9-12

Mentoring high schoolers, balancing on the cusp of adulthood yet dependent on parents, is challenging. They face pivotal decisions about college, careers, and entering the real world, often leading to anxiety. Our program emphasizes Social Emotional Learning to support this critical phase. We encourage consistent attendance and academic effort through meaningful incentives. Interactive elements like engaging games, current affairs discussions, and decision-making exercises, such as selecting music for dance sessions within school policies, are integral, fostering autonomy and boosting student' self-esteem.
